can anyone tell me how to plant different types of plants ive never done it before and im going to buy some soon

hi, it depends on which types of plants you are getting, plants with rhizomes, e.g. java fern & anubias, should be attached to rocks/wood and the rhizome should NEVER be planted in the substrate. most other plants just need to be pushed into the substrate. what plant species are you getting?
