Planting Vallisneria Plant

Might want to post this in the planted forum :)

But, basically you plant the base into the gravel carfeully (Vallis stems/leaves are easy to break).

i heard u have to plant it and leave the crown of the plant out in the water

leaving just the roots in the gravel

is this method mandatory?

As long as you don't bury the crown too much it should do OK, I have never been too fussy with this and I have not had any issues with the plants, usually you will lose one or two of the outer leaves but this is as much down to them being damaged or not liking the transportation etc. Sometimes removing the two outer leaves is a good idea as it stops them going manky in your tank.
