I have a juwel trigon 190 for about 18 months and I'm really pleased with the appearance of the tank. However, now that I have started to look closely at aquascaping and adding more plants I'm concerned that the relatively low output of the unit [approx 2 watts / gallon] is going to restrict potential plant growth. I have already added the reflectors and I can't see how I can increase light output further. My questions are:-

1. Has anyone else got a trigon 190 and grown plants successfully?
2. Has anyone managed to figure out a way of modifying the tank to accept another tube?

Looking forward to some help..................please!

Have you thought of power compacts, these lamps are small but pack a punch.

A 55watt power compact is only 21 inches long, 3 of those would get you ample amounts of light more than 3 watts per gallon.
