I have had my tank for about 4 months. everything is going terrific. i bought three plants today that came in little black pots. my question newbie as it may seem is.Do I keep the plants in the pots or take them out?

Some people keep them in but the plants will be limited to how much they can grow. It's best to remove the pots and the white floss stuff from the roots then bury the plants roots in the gravel/sand. Some plants anubis, java fern, java moss to name a few should be attached to rocks or bog wood with cotton or fishing line as they will rot if the roots are buried.

Hope this helps
