How do I plant Hornwort?

It'll probably do a lot better if you let it float
 
When I tried to plant some it died on me pretty quickly

i had huge amounts of this stuff, works best floating always rotted or just got uprooted if i planted it, although if you really want it to be planted you could try putting small pebbles on the base of the stem to keep it down maybe?
