Hi all,

I am looking for some advice on planting up a new tank that I am fishless cycling at the moment. I want a pair of dwarf gouramis, a shoal of Harlequin rasboras and a few kuhli loaches in a 48"x12"x15" tank.

I have had advice that the gouramis will like 'floating plants', but can't tell from the latin names alone what might fit the bill as 'floating'? Does anyone have any recommendations for 'floating plants'?

Also I wondered how quickly do plants establish themselves so as to be able to survive the digging action of the loaches? Should I plant up the tank before introducing the fish, or will they be OK going in together?

Any advice is gratefully received!

id plant it up before to give the plants time to establish root systems. as for floating plants. iv got Indian fern (Ceratopteris thalictroides) ..its a really fast grower. im not sure if its meant to float but mines thriving
