As exchange for some algea wafers i recieved some plant through the post today from Fishyfeet. I know 0 about aquatic plants.. she said just push them doen into the subsstrate and they will go from there.

I dont know what they are?
if i need to add fertilizer?
do they stand up or lie across the wood?

I would add pics but im so ashamed and you lot would have a barrel of laffs at my attempt!

If you want your questions answered a name or pictures will be needed. No-one will laugh at your attempt, we all have to start somewhere and im sure it's not as bad as you say :good:

i did ..no answer

i will post pics then!

Just so ya know, the third pic down is a fern so you need to keep it's rhizome (horizontal part of the root system) out of the sand or it will rot and die, you can tie it to a rock, wood or decoration. :)

OK, I'm with the fact the first one looks like a swiss cheese plant.

Second one I'm not so sure, but I'm thinking a ludwigia.

Third one is a java fern, tie it to some wood or a rock.

Fourth one looks like hygrophila corymbosa. Although I get mixed up with the hygrophilias. Grows like a weed and pretty robust.

yes the big plant in the middle is a plastic plant it was the smaller leaved plants i have planted on pic 1.
ive planted pic 2 in the sand, but there are creepers growing out all up the the plant. so wasnt sure if it grows upwards or across?
Pic 3 has black roots, what do i tie it to the wood with? cotton? (the shrimps are doing a grand job of clearing the wood off)
Pic 4 the greener one is the same as pic 3 (so i gather this is Java fern too) mixed with some of pic 1+2 (small leaves)

they will probably die....i'm useless at growing things!
