Planted tank with Filter removed

I just got a new camera phone and took these photos. Not bad me thinks. I'm dead chuffed with the phone.

In the top left I have riccia and hairgrass cos I haven't got round to planting/tying down yet. But my gourami has made a bubble nest out of it so I may leave some riccia floating for him.

Love it! I bet your gourami is so happy with all that hiding space! I;m still too timid to try plants lol, gotta get better at just keeping fish healthy and happy before i try plants lol

I know. It was sposed to be there for another week really but my rabbits chewed the cable for it so it's been switched off for a week. I've had the 2 filters in there for 3 weeks so that should be enough.

I got bun nets today! They didnt have hair nets! So I have smaller hair nets that are for buns. Should be ok cos my bits of slate are quite small. So I'll try and get a piccy up of my tied down riccia tonight!! And if I have the time hopefully I'll plant some of the hairgrass.

have fun wont you... just a tip. make sure the riccia goes right to the edge of the slate and pull it tight before tying it off. otherwise you'll have more of a riccia igloo (with a loose net the riccia floats up leaving a gap under the slate). see cave roof in right sig tank!!! once it's in you really wont want to redo it.

thank you. The picture looked somewhat better last night. Now I'm more awake it doesnt look so good. Oh well. I'll take lots more tonight

it's well worth it in the end though, it's not that it's hard just a little messy.
i made 2 more riccia slates last night (7 in total now over 2 tanks) the stuff just grows and grows and grows.....

you'll be throwing away handfulls of the stuff in about 3 months once you've used all that you can fit in the tank... i just sent a bag of it to "one trick pony" for nothing.. it was destined for the dustbin so thought i may as well send it to someone..

Well at least i have laminate floor. much easier to mop and clean

the pressure is on. I'm useless at this kind of thing. I have doubts that it's going to look as good as yours. We'll see. Will have to keep the bunnies away from the riccia...they might eat it
