Here's a few pics, i'm not 100% happy with the layout of the tank on the right hand side as yet, but before i change anything I'm waiting for things to fill out, i think that side looks a little bare.

First is a picture of the tank as it stands now (excuse teh CO2 ladder on the front, its there for ease of viewing temporarily)

this is my plan for it so far, to remove the small riccia circle and cover the remaining floor area with hairgrass. Then to use some riccia cuttings to fill out that area when it grows more.....

a shot of the vallis area with a little cabomba mixed in and some neons infront

a circle of riccia i'm waiting to spread out - it's grown rapidly in 10 days, it's placed under a hairnet and held in shape by some clear air pipe and lead weights

and here are a few of the fish that live there, firstly a group of neons and a ram

will post again when i've changed something - but for now is it all looking about right to you?

It looks very nice and very blue! Has it got a background to it? a darker shade for the background will give the tank depth and highlight the plants in the tank better.

I like the vallis(wish i had more of that), but can i suggest moving some of it thats more in the 'middle' of the tank towards the right at the back, in order to cover up the filter a bit more.

thanks, yeah im still undecided about that corner where the filter is. It has a blue background but i was actualy at the lfs tonight looking for a black one but they'd sold out - doh!

thanks everyone, sorry what is "frill" - do you mean a frilly plant like more cabomba?

looking good sime.

glad you've got your co2 sorted now and i agree a black background would improve it again.

riccia's coming along nicely as well, good job

Great to see your tank looking so good Sime, well done - excellent results. It looks much better than mine did back when I started out.

IMO if you change the background to black then I think the light blue substrate would look a little too gawdy. That's just my humble opinion.

Well done again mate, I look forward to seeing it progress.

It looks lovely. My suggestions would be to change the substrate to a more natural colour. I do personally prefer a black background, but I like the blue.

Plants look gorgeous and very green and healthy. How long has it been set up for?

 Very nice indeed! I love it :)
Your Ram looks brightly coloured and healty

thanks everyone.

well its been running for a few months now, but after i had bad cyano i lost a lot of vallis. half of that is my origional stuff from months and months ago nd half is about 3 weeks old.

i'll try a black bin bag behind it and see how it looks - i dont realy want to change the gravel again yet as i dont have a second tank or anything - and the valis is rooting all over the place under there.

im thinking for the right hand side i may put some swords from the vallis to the filter and move the ivy forward and over, not sure yet though.

glad you think it's doing ok!

Edit: as for the rams I have two, they came over from singapore and i had to wait a while for the lfs to sell them, but they are worth it, they dont look as good on the pictures but they have bright purple spots on them too.
