Hi All

I'm a few days into fishless cycling my tank and having planted cuttingsi'm not sure should i be feeding them or will this stall/harm the cycling process?

The cutlings are planted in the Silica play sand substrate at a depth of around 2"

Cheers for any advice :good:

ps, i posted this in another section but I think it wasn't in the right place as no replies.

The problems with using plants in a fishless (ammonia) cycle is that, the plants will need light. When ammonia is introduced, you'll get algae as light + Ammonia = Algae.

Okay cheers for that, will any plant food i put in the tank affect the test readings or cycle though?

Which food is it?

Some plant food contains ammonium (a safe form of ammonia), which still registers on test kits.
