Hi

Am i right in thinkung that a betta tank would be good for planting heavily with live plants as there is minimal wastle from the fish?
Currently I use king british plant food, the stuff in the tubs with a pippette, for my community tank. Would this also work for the betta tank or do i need a co2 system? If I need a co2 system, what's the average sort of price and ease of use?
At the moment I have sand as a substrate, should I mix some samll pea gravel with this?

(tank is 30 litres)

thanks

you don't need CO2 on any tank but it helps the plants if you have heaps of them in the tank and they get lots of light. I wouldn't bother using it on a betta tank, it's just not necessary.
Most plant foods are fine for use with bettas, just don't overdose it.
Sand is fine for plants.
Make sure you don't cover too much of the surface with plants otherwise the betta could suffocate from not being able to get air from the surface.
