hi all

thought it was about time i stuck my tanks up on here.
first up is my tropical 5 footer. It started off as being an oddball tank with fire eels and a jardini arrowana, but around 3 months i changed plan and went back to small tropical fish and attempted my first bash at a properly planted tank.

The tank is over filtered, thanks to the filtration i had for the oddballs. so a large thermo eheim and an fx5 do my filtration.
I use a presurised Co2 unit from JBL?
Lighting is from 4x 40W tubes though this is gonna get upgraded when i've got some cash, to an overtank luminaire pushing out around 300W.

Stocking is heavy, but i get away with it due to the over filtration.
The idea of the tank was to have large shoals of small fish, so that they can act naturally as a shoal.

There is:
Long finned leopard danios
Harlequins
Cherry Barbs
Black Neon Tetras
4x Angels (hoping for a pair then will move on the other two)
1x Hoplo Catfish
A pair of Kribensis
1x Pleco (very old been with us since we started fish keeping, just never seems to grow)
2x twig catfish
5x Clown loach
Otos
Corys (several species)

right, now for the pics

first up the obligatory full tank shot.

That looks really good. Has it been set up for long? The setup is very similar to mine - same CO2 (yes it's JBL), over filtered, over stocked... etc.

What substrate is that? And what's the carpet plant in the front?

Your lily is massive, did you get it like that or has it grown?

tanks for your kind comments
tank has been going for around 2 years but in the current phase (planted with small fish for around 3 months)
The substrate is some sort of very fine black gravel bought from LFS.
Haven't a clue what the plant at the front is. sadly it isn't really carpetting yet cos the kribensis like to snack on it!!
The lily is actually two plants that were bought quite small, just 4 leaves each around 6 weeks ago.
hoping that they will flower when i get the overtank lighting.

Looks nice, What make of tank is it??
Sam

tank looks great.
Love a well designed heavily planted tank.
Great selection of fish. Really matches the design.
