Well its my first attempt to do a planted tank right. I got a florite type substrate, yeast based Co2, 2WPG lighting and good filtration. I currently have Amazon Swords and Anubis inside but when I moved over all my media from my 10 gallon and my single DP I lost my cycle and DP somehow. Checked ammonia only 1 day after moving everything over and it was .25 which I dont know why.
few weeks have passed since then and just let the tank run. Added Florish over time and changed Co2 but my plants seem horrible and algea is now growing. I also keep lights on for 12 hours a day and its away from natural light. I moved over some sponged from my 30 and added 5ml of ammonia. Calculator says I need 3.5 and ammonia seems to be going away but no nitrite is showing at all (Haven't tested Nitrate yet).
I know fishless cycles aren't recommended since they cause algea in planted tanks but it seems like it was the only way. So are things going right now or am I doing something wrong?
