Would be useful to know more about your setup really.

I'd suspect Glossostigma elatinoides would be a good bet as it supposed to be fine in lower light. It will also depend on what substrate you have. Glosso doesn't like large gravel really...
 
ive always wanted java moss for carpeting but i also live in south wales and i ve never seen any for sale!
 
dev, glosso grows tall in anything but the best light, Hc stays low apparently though.
 
Am I the only one thinking you can't carpet with Java Moss... You'd have to tie it to something like slate & lay the slate flat on the substrate to make it 'look' like a carpet, but the result would be an unnatural clump of the stuff.

HC, easier & better....

Forgive my ignorance.. but HC?? Been away from the forum for a bit and have some more acronyms to learn ;)
