brown metal-head

I have a plant that I cannot identify but I believe it is Rotala rotundifolia. I tried checking with the lfs but they had different plants and took the sticker off. The leaves are paired opposite each other and then it has very small stems at most a half a centimeter in diameter. The leaves used to be a red and green color but now are brown, yellow with holes. There is also a stringy substence coming off of the leaves towards the top. I am not planning on keeping it but I just want to know could it be from too much Iron and not enough light. I have this light for my ten gallon tank
A-1583 Aqua~Glo Fluorescent Aquarium Bulb - 24" - T8. The other parameters are as follows:
pH 7.6
Temp 81F
Ammonia 0 ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm
Nitrate 10 ppm
I add a few drops of FloraPride Once a week and add half the value to water changes which are 15% a week
Also the Cambio plant growth is stunted could that be from a lack of Co2.
Any help with this would be apreciated. I would test for the co2 and iron and such like but I can't afford it at the moment saving for that 55 gallon otherwise I would include this information.
