I know there's anubias, and java fern, and mosses. But there must be others surely?

I have a lot of piece of wood that are just begging to have plants growing all over them, but I'm just wondering if there's something a bit different from having several different kinds of anubias and some java fern?

Am hoping to go on a bit of a spending spree soon (depending on finances of course) and I'd like to have some kind of idea what I'm looking for.

This is what the tank currently looks like. Left side:

Apologies for the slightly blurry photos, they were taken in a rush!

I want to increase the anubias nana and put them together in a clump, I also really like the golden variety (thinking near to the nana on the left side) and a quite like the coffeefolia too - thinking right hand side on that piece of wood that sticks up. But next to that there's another piece of wood - a long piece with a lump at the front, and it just screams "tie plants on me!" but I'm not sure what?

I'll also be thinning out the vallis in the middle and selling a few of the smaller plantlets, this will leave me with some room for some mid-ground plants, I'd like something reddish.
I like the nymphaea and the alternantheras listed but those all require co2 injection. (although I am hopeful that will happen soon, I can't guarantee it!)

The A. barteri var. nana petite gold is an awesome little plant. Also for the woodwork, I would suggest you look at Staurogyne spp., it is an amazing miniature Hygrophila which aparently will attach to wood and rock quite readily! I say species and not repens because only Tropica appear to sell it as repens.. I got a few tubs of Staurogyne spp. and one of Staurogyne repens, when I bought mine, from different nurseries and the contents were almost identical.. the main difference was the price! Also apparently there is currently only the one plant in the Staurogyne genus, which makes things only more confusing, as it is S. brachystachya.

It's a nice looking plant that. I quite like this Malay fern too.

Caz get some co2 injected asap n watch your plants go mental! honestly, my anabias is three times the size since starting diy co2 3 months ago. altho a spending spree on plants is great, just consider mass growth once your co2 is sorted! (and the diy method is EASY)

I cant do DIY on a 240L tank! I'd need about 5 bottles so I'd be changing 2 each week! I can barely remember to feed my fish, dosing ferts twice a week is a push, add DIY CO2 in there as well and I'd end up forgetting something else really important, like feeding the children or something! :X

Seriously though, we have some money coming soon from a PI claim (we are now at the offers stage) so I have earmarked about £2-300 for fish related stuff - plants, CO2 and more fish (seeing as all I have atm is 3 baby BNs, 8 tetras and 1 gourami! tank looks very empty lol!)

how've you got on with the tank Cazzie!?

No pennies yet, so no plants yet for me :( although I did move one of my anubias from 1 piece of wood onto 2 other pieces (helped by some scissors!) tis in my journal. Everything is in limbo until the money arrives, and you know what insurance companies are like! If they can stall, they will!
