I got a load of plants about 5 days ago. and some of the leaves are already going brown. The paramaters of my tank are all ok, and i have 1 Juwel light in there, no oxygen or Co2 is getting pumped into the tank?Could they just be going like that because i havnt fed them?

It could be due to lack of light also. What light do you have? Also, what plants are they? Some LFS sell non aquatic plants and these promptly die after several weeks of living under water. And, yet another possibility is the plant is losing its "emeresed" leaves and will grow submeresed leaves.

Need some further info really :)

If they are new, they are probably also adapting to you tank. Most platns lose leaves when first added to a tank.

they are new plants, and definteley for a tank, purchased from pets at home i know that one is roseilla (sp). The light is Arcadia Freshwater 15W and is on for approx 11- 12 hours a day.

amazon swords are on of the Steven Segal plants.

'Hard to Kill'

If one leaf deteriates it just grows another.

any ideas on what to do with my palnts?

Need a little more info. What lighting do you have for a start? What substrate are you using? I think you said you don't dose any ferts at the moment, might be worth considering this but untill we know a bit more info its difficult to say what the problem is.

Any chance of a few pics?

Steve.

Your lighting may be insufficient, the plants can be adapting to your tank.

What filter are you using and have you got an airstone going?

Im using the Juwel filter, what i belive is chemical biological and mechanical.

Im not using a air stone as i was told this will take out any Co2 which is already present, and im not sung a Co2 system either.
