I have recently changed the layout in my tank and have just got a load of new plants. Originally I didn't have that many plants in my tank so I never need to add any plant supplements/CO2, but now that I have quite a few plants I think they might need some help. Now I don't want to dive into the CO2 market, so I have been looking at plant supplements in the form of tablets to put in gravel/sand or droplets to just add to the tank. Looking at the different products I believe using droplets/liquids would be easier as it’s just like medicating the fish but this time the plants instead ;)

So when I went down to my LFS and asked about what types of plant supplements would be good, they pointed me towards the 'flourish excel.' I am now wondering, is this the best form of plant supplements? Has anyone used it before? And does anyone know where I can get it fairly cheaply because I don't want to spend stupid amounts of money? Any advice would be good thanks.

Excel is used for a source of Carbon.
You just want the standard Seachem Flourish.

Check Warehouse Aquatics, The Green Machine, Aqua Essentials. It is a good fert :good:

Thanks, Aaron

Thanks for the advice. Would it be an idea to get the flourish excel because of the source of carbon in it? Or would it be better just sticking with normal flourish?

As for the retailers, I will check them out, thanks again.

Flourish excel is just the Carbon source as far as I'm aware, you'll need both Flourish excel and standard Flourish.

If you think your plants need Carbon (stunted growth) then use excel, otherwise stick with flourish :good:

Ok thanks for the advice, I will keep looking into it but will probably get the standard flourish now instead. Thanks.
