Hi Adam,

I can show what I did for my tank:

I tried to place http://www.floridaaq..._americana.html (Val Torta for the background. But it wasn't working out how I hoped it would. Those plants just weren't growing or the fish were eating it.

The red plant is: Alternanthera reineckii var http://www.floridaaq..._reineckii.html

It grows nicely for me...and VERY fast. But this plant needs good ligthing....since getting a T5 fixture it has been growing wildly. lol...It is in the middle of the tank. I haven't bought a foreground plant yet. I did try to have micro sword plant but that didn't work out..

Also the plants next to the alternantera reineckii are Hydro Kompakt ( link is in the bottom) those are a foreground to mid-background plant.

the smaller plants in the tank are http://www.floridaaq...small_form.html They are another mid-background plant. as is the Amazon Sword plant which is the big leafy plant. The http://www.floridaaq...us_bleheri.html ( Amazon sword) plant will stay that size.

Some common foreground plants:

http://www.floridaaq...us_bleheri.html (Narrow Leaf Chain Sword)
http://www.floridaaq...is_parvula.html (Dwarf Hairgrass)

http://www.floridaaq...trichoides.html (Dwarf Baby Tears)

http://www.floridaaq...sa_kompakt.html (Hygrophila Kompakt)

There is quite a few selections in plants and it depends on what your vision you have for your tank.

My amazon is massive, what are using as a substrate? I'm using the T5 and liquid fert in silver sand but not getting fast growth

Really? do you have a picture? I have sand as my substrate...but looking to make the transition to fluorite. I'm not using liquid fert but I'm using flourish tabs. I"m not sure how to use liquid ferts...actually kind of worried to use the. I also had co2 in my tank as well...but I took it out because i ran out of those packets. I want to get a co2 canister but it is expensive. :S

any more ideas to what nice plants would fit in sections.

Can anyone else offer idea here, backgroubd: mid: and foreground plants that are nice and different. ta.
