Plant Food

Just seting up a planted tank I have used compost with sand on top I don't want to mess about with co2 so what can I add to the water or sand compost as plant food as I don't have a clue thanks

Depends a lot on what you mean by compost. Assuming that you mean aquarium type soils then the answer is any of the commercial products without NPK in them would be fine.
 
If you used proper John Innes type stuff then you may not need anything for some time.
