Plant Fertilizer

which brand do you use? will any be good for plants? which would i use for microswords and amazon swords? thanks

I use Seachem products, including a supplement for Potassium, Iron, and a trace element substance. On the back burner, I have a CO2 supplement, but I haven't needed that for a while since I got my CO2 injection working properly. My tanks, however, are small, and I can afford to use liquid supplements. For larger tanks, it may be more cost effective to use DIY fertilizers. If you post in the planted section, people far more knowledgable than I will be able to help you further.

The Seachem products work well for me and I have experienced successful plant growth with their use. But I attribute success more to adaquate lighting and CO2 than to fertilizers. There are several excellent pinned articles in the planted section that further explain the benefits of CO2 and lighting.

Sorry, if I couldn't help you more, but I can only recommend based on my experience. How large is your tank and what type of lighting do you have now?

Regards

I use Sera Florena, both liqued food and tabs.

its a 10 gallon with an incandescent. the light is on from 3 to 9, but the tank gets sun light from 12 to 1 i think. im thinking of starting a plant tank so i can get my plants to grow bigger and root before i put them into my future tanks.
