plant fertilisers

was just wondering if plant fertilisers are needed or if they just help the plats growth?
i only hav a couple of small java fersn at the mo
and a load of fake plants
so wot do u ppl think

54 litre tank
1 honey gourami
4 black widow tetra
2 black neon tetra
2 platys
2 zebra danio
1 pearl danio

no need. just keep up weekly 25% water changes and the plants will be fine. theyre slow growers anyway so dont need much in the way of nutrients.
