Hey guys, recently setup another tank that will be pure shrimp tank :)!

I'm going to heavly plant the tank, but don't want to buy and setup co2.

Is there a good fert to use for planted tanks that WONT effect red cherry shrimp in any way, shape or form?

Cheers :good:

Easycarbo hasn't harmed any shrimp in my tank.

Cheers, ianho... what about flourish excel, is that any good for planted shrimp tanks?

I'd rather loose the plants than the shrimp haha, dont want to dose plant fert and see 80 dead shrimp the next day :( !

I can only comment on the Easycarbo, i have read when you start doubling doses, this can effect shrimp, but mine have been fine with it.

Ok, wen't to my LFS today and they had non of the above avalible

So i'll have to buy mine from eBay I guess. The plants that will be in the tank will be easy to grow plants anyway, from the £5 for 25 plants off eBay, they are all easy, low light plants. Nothing pro!

But I wan't them to be as green as possible on the black substrate to bring the red out in my shrimp  :good:

Cheers

You could go with Flourish by Seachem. It has a little copper in it but certainly not enough to kill shrimp. I use it in a tank that has shrimp, ghost shrimp to be specific, and they are about as delicate as you can get when it comes to shrimp.

Why? All plant fertilisers have copper in, but the levels aren't high enough to harm the Inverts.
