OK, this white stuff is really bugging me and i have no idea what it is, it grows on the glass, wood and plants, it will be in a certain spot one day then 24 hours later it's disappeared. It's not stubborn like algae as it easily wipes off but i just have no idea what it is or why its occuring.

This is a couple of shots of one of my plants, in general the aquascape is very healthy but a few leaves look a bit shabby, i just can't figure out the specific deficiency, any ideas would be fantastic.

the white stuff is a fungus... be very careful about the way that you handle it... i have only heard stories about it... when people tried to remove it, they scrapped it off and hoped that the filter would catch most of it... ah... no... 2 days later, the smaller particles had found a home in about 20 different locations around the tank...

Try using a fish fungus treatment to cure it... but i am only suggesting it as i have no prior experience in this area.

The plants... hmm what type of lighting do you have? are you dosing the tank with any liquid ferts?

I have previously had this problem and when i spoke to my fish man he said it was fungus due to over feeding so didnot feed for three days fungus gone has happened a couple of times over the last few years and it usually coincides with poor water quality and fish not eating as normal

bump, thanks fellas, i could really do with a name and treatment for this white stuff if anybody knows?
