Plant & Carbon Media

Should carbon media be removed when your adding plant nutrients, etc? will the carbon media just absorb the nutrients the plants need?

Likely: There seems to be a sort of consensus that carbon filtration is not normally required. Normally used to remove meds from a tank. The lifespan of a carbon filter is weeks and therefore constant changing of this filter media will become extremely expensive.

Yeah remove the carbon, it will only absorb the plant food, its only needed to remove meds,
