Okay, so I started fresh. New gravel, new decorations, ect. I think I want to turn the 10 gallon tank into one large, densely planted betta tank. I just planted some bulbs, hope they will grow! Here is a picture.
Did you take them out of the rock wool/rings/weights?
If not, that may have caused them to rot, as the stems and roots were being compressed.
Also, many aquarium plants are grown with just their roots in water and, when you put them in your tank, those leaves die off and new, proper underwater leaves grow.
It's still worth trying live plants; most are very easy to grow
I just always use easy plants that don't need planting in the substrate things like anubius and java ferns that I can just easily tie or glue onto my wood and decorations.
They are really simple and I never take any specific care of them but they look ok and grow easily
