i bred a pk male with a vt female a couple of months ago and hopefuly the fry will be big enough to breed in a couple of weeks. the intention was to eventualy produce a pk with the blue/green marbled colouration of the vt female i used.
if i pair one of these "split" fry (split was the term i used for breeding birds which were one colour but were bred from another colour and carried the genes for the colour) to a pk, what would be the result? if my basic understandig of genetics is correct, and so far ive predicted right, i should get 1 out of every 16 fry in the proposed spawn with the "double recesive", marbled pk.
can anyone advise?
