Just an update of my 7 rb piranhas eating a big frozen mouse. They are much bigger and vicious then before

A little gruesome, but piranhas do have to eat. Do you normally feed them frozen mice? I imagine they eat other foods too. Maintenance regimen, tank size? The water's really clear.

I like piranhas. My favorite piranha tank was in the NYC aquarium. Believe or not a planted tank... Blew my mind. Here are some pictures.

And they had other tetras as dither fish that were not being eaten. Actually made me add piranhas to the old "dream fish list". :D

wow.. i always wanted to make my piranha tank into a planted tank. I normally feed them shrimp and frozen pinkies. The water's only clear cuz i change 50% water every week lol. The tank's only 75g, but im planning to get rid of some piranhas soon

It's some tank isn't it. Met the guy who designed it and had to shake his hand. Completely changed my view as to what can go into a planted tank. Saw an arowana in a beautiful tank of just mosses. Never saw predatory fish looks so colorful. I'd love a predatory tank with that kind of finesse. 250g Planted rb piranha tank...

Ah that is an ideal tank for piranhas. They are actually a shy fish, so much prefer cover and subdued lighting. They need to be in a large group to be confident.

Any fish could be kept in a planted tank - whether the plants survive or not is another matter! Severums can be kept in a large planted tank, IF the plants are already established and don't mind being severely pruned and or uprooted regularly  I love my plants too much to do it to them

eew, minging, could have done without you twiddling the mouses head around at the end of it

used to have em..not anymore though lol

I went on YouTube to watch the video and in the related videos it had people using live mice :(

At least you use a dead mouse. I saw using live one's.
Its cruel to use live in my opinion. Its natural to feed a piranha a fish it's nature. They share the same environment the piranha's are predators and obviously will hunt and kill other fishes in the tank.
But last i check mice don't usually go to swim in the amazon for piranhas to hunt them.
If its dead its ok as you said you need to feed your piranhas but can stand people that feed live ones.
It's not natural unlike some people believe.

By the way nice piranhas.
