So for my 75 Gallon I bought Aqua Clear 110.

I am thinking about getting a school so I was thinking of a second Aqua Clear 110.

The Fish Super store started going on about way too much flow ... 500 something or other.

And suggests ditching the Aqua Clear 110 altogether and getting a Canister.

Shouldn't the Piranha be fine with a Aqua Clear 110 Since I have had him I have always Used HOBs.

I have always over filtered.

Suddenly this guy says there could be issues.

Lies for more money or is he right?

Probably. Either that or just plain wrong. 2 AC 110s on a 75g should be fine. I think it's a bit of an over kill though (an ac 110 and 70 should be fine) I know rbp keepers who have done that. You could always find a way to reduce the current anyways.

Maybe I am being unknowledgeable but when I fill my tank back up ... he actually swims the current generated by it ... if that is a fish that hates current I don't know what to say.

Would 2 x 70s be better?

I got the 110 because I didn't want to have to invest again on a second 110 when I get another Piranha.

He doesn't hate current, he just doesn't get it in his natural habitat. Most fish will swim in current given the chance even if they don't get it in the natural world.

When a tank is already setup can you add further substrate? (pebbles)

I was thinking of adding some more ... washing it in tap conditioned water and using a net or something to control its placement ...

Yes you can. Just rinse it with tap water, doesn't need to be dechlored.

It really doesn't matter. 2 70s should be just fine. Get rid of the carbon packet thing it comes with and replace it with some bio media.
