ive been looking and can;t find a pink fish good for a 30 gallon tank. anyone know of any?

Male rosy barbs are kind of a deep pink (almost red) and a few would probably be ok in a 30 gallon. Here's a pic of my long finned male:

There's also a fish called a glofish that I believe is a genetically engineered zebra danio, and they would be ok in a 30 gallon as well. That is, if you can find them. I live in Virginia and I've seen them at several places around here, but I've heard they might be hard to find (or even illegal) in other places. There's some pics of Glofish here: http://www.glofish.com/photos.asp.

EDIT: woopsie! I was just looking at new posts and didn't pay attention to the topic...I guess that would have tipped me off that you're looking for saltwater fish! so...scratch that!

We need more information - what will it's tankmates be, and will it be with corals?

well im basically just starting out so all i have is a clown and a yellow tail damsel in there now. it will have corals eventually.

Hm, that yellow tail will be a problem. Very territorial, usually. They don't like new roomates, for the most part.

How long has your tank been set up, and how long have you had those fish in it?

Well, truer words have been spoken...

Yellow-tailed Damsels are usually not very territorial. People tend to lump all Damselfishes in this area (the "aggressive area") just because of "the Sargeant Major that killed my Kole Tang" or "the Domino that killed my Copperband". In reality, most Damselfishes will leave their tankmates alone.

For a pink fish, why not a group of Dwarf Zebra Lionfish? While not terribly pink, they are highly majstic and pleasing to look at.

what about a magenta dottyback?

ive had the damsel since start up, and the clown since 2 weeks ago. at first the damsel would rush the clown but not nip at him, just try to bump, but now there used to each other. ill have to look at that magenta now.

^^^ see i really want a pink square anthias but i was told they woudl not do well in a 30 gallon. and i dont want to pay $40 for it to just die off. If anyone knows other wise please let me know.

What about a sixline wrasse? For the most part, they are a pink color. And if the damsel gives in to all of the stereotypes about damsels, the wrasse could probably hold it's own.

How about a royal gramma basslett

I kept a clown, yellow tail damsel and a royal gamma in a 30gal tank quite happily.

Everybody who sees my tank comments on the gramma's colour :good:
