Wellk I fany one remembers I said i would Try to put some ping pong balls in My tank to see if My fish like them. I finally Got around to it. I put it in my 55 and immediately The fish started pushing it around. Does anyone have any ideas to make it sit Low in the water without sinking all the way?

maybe you could pierce the ball with a needle and run some fishing line through the hole, reseal the two holes with silicone then attach the fishing line to a weight.... adjust the length of the line until you get it to a height from the bottom that you like... it might work....

Poke a hole. Fill half of ball with water. Reseal hole.

DB :fish:

By the way, the fish really play with them?
They Like to push it around. I guess that counts as playing

i poked about 10 holes in mine.........didnt sink, then i got a knife and slashed it twice put it back in the water and...............it didnt sink.
if you find out how to do this let me know. I put one with my agressive Midas (the one in my video) and he flared up with it and started to attack it lol

So far My Jd seems to like ti the most. He has been pushing that thing around for like an hour. I plan on sinking on and leaving the other one around the surface.

Yeah, cichlids love anything they can play with. My dad used to buy these ugly plastic "jewels" you could buy at wal-mart for his oscar; he loved playing with all the cool shiny things.

well, i think that they are either pushing it because they are saying, get the hell out of my space, or they are trying to eat it. well, no proof of this, but i think if you throw a ball into a huge tank as in as big as a pond with a cichlid in it, it wont do anything with it unless it goes near its area, and once its out, it will stop pushing it. just my thoughts
