Are pineapple swordies a good choice? They will be going in a livebearer tank with mollies, guppies, and platys. How many shall I get? And don't worry, I have enough room in my tank! Just wondering about them!

Tanks! :D

1 male to 3 females is the rule. If you are going to breed otherwise all of the same sex.

i used to have two of them and they were not agressive at all. But some fish will become agressive for no apparent reason it is just the fishes own personality.

I think pineapple swordies are an excellent choice! Of all the different color swordies I've had, pineapples have had the cutest personalities. Every one of them I;ve had has been very sweet and a real clown. Get either 2 or 3 females and 1 male. While male swordies are sometimes aggresive with each other they usually aren't agressive towards other species. Although as one person pointed out, it depends on individual fish.

I agree with polarbear!....my pineapple swordtail is such a character....he is always getting himself into trouble! lol

All of my swordtails are very gentle and they do not seem to bug anyone....except the snails lol they like to make them close up!....but other than that they are really beautiful fish :D

I have a guppy tank and added a pair of swordtails and they were aggressive towards my guppies and tetras, but my female sword is probably more aggressive than most. If you find docile ones, sure add them in with your guppies but definitely dont pick the leader of the pack.
