My boss at our pet store said that he would special order any fish that I wanted and that I could get them for cost! I was thinking about getting some pike livebearers. I have read some about them and I know that the male is a lot smaller than the female and most likely should be kept separate from her. Are the females aggressive to all other fish or just to smaller fish? I can't figure out what size tank I would need either. Hopefully someone can give me a little more info.

are you talking about the salt water fish that has the long nose?

No, its freshwater. Mostly from Central America though I think they have introduced them to a few other areas of southern North America and Central America.

Best kept with the same size or larger fish, best kept in pairs with a shoal of feeder fish..Also it says to be kept in gallons dosn't say a particular size tank. Also can have 250 babies a month, wow.

I have read that the females get larger then the males and that the females will sometimes kill the males. Speculation is that the males have a large gonopodium because so they can stay farther away from the females during copulation.

I would probably need a larger aquarium like a 29 rather than a 10 or 20 right?

More like a 55 or larger. They need a lot of surface area. They're extremely fun to feed!
