My heart is heavy. Pierre has gone missing. Yes, missing. Last seen 3 or 4 days ago in my tank. I did a water change Friday morning, and the chances of me accidentally scooping him up, putting him into a bowl, carrying the bowl out to the sink and pouring him away without seeing him is very unlikely. There is a gap in the hood where my filter hangs but the chances of him being able to climb up something and get out through it are slim. He'd have to be an acrobat, and I know he had a french accent but I'm sure he wasn't part of Cirque de Soleil. He's just gone. Not buried under the gravel, or hidden in any plants, and we've had a good good look. He's MIA. :(

On the plus side, we did gain a fish. A baby one! Don't know where it came from, probably the balloon mollies, but it doesn't look like a balloon molly at all, it's very slender. Probably about 7mm long, I have some video footage but it's not great quality cuz it's so small and out of focus, maybe I'll hook it up for you to see later.

Look around for him on the floor, hope he dosn't pinch your feet .

Heh, looked already. Behind the entertainment center where the tank is, all around the edges of the room, behind the bookshelves, under the couch, behind the CD cases, literally everywhere.

It's just the not knowing *sob*

fiddler crabs need to be in an aquarium where they have land access and lots of hiding places above water and below it. he probably got sick of being submersed and bolted to higher dry ground. check your filtre they like hanging out in there sometimes. if he's not in there he's busted loose and went back to france :/

Unbelievable! I'd already looked in the filter, but just a few minutes ago, I was testing the water when all of a sudden I saw soemthing come hurtling down a plant. I nearly freaked out, then I realised that it was Pierre! I didn't recognize him! He's darker and bigger! He looks MEAN! He must've been on vacation to get a sun-tan, somewhere nice and sunny! I wish he'd had left a note!

Seriously though, I think he must have been hiding out under the lip of where my filter hooks onto the back of the tank. Either that, or he's really good at burying himself in the gravel and not moving when he's disturbed!

Glad you found him back :)
Yeah, it's a huge relief. We're just glad to have him back home.

(lol)

By the way, I wanted to tell you....

When I saw the title of your post, I really thought I was going to get into the post and there would be some cleverly funny sort of underwater soap opera going on.

lol

Ooooh, yeah, it is quite the soap in my aquarium! This baby just appeared from nowhere, and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO idea who the father is! Could be anybodys, but my bet's on the balloon molly! (wife thought it was Pierre's, and that's why he ran away.)

Yeah, they are, but I bought him without knowing, and the fish shop were keeping them in a tropical tank, sold him to me with tropical fish, knowing that I was putting him in a tropical aquarium. I'd take him back, but they'd just stick him back in the tropical tank and resell him, so the best I can do is make sure he can climb up the bit of wood and get out of the water when he wants :\

 Glad he's turned up.
