Pictus Tank Size?

Can a pim pictus be housed in a 3' x2' x2' tank? well actually 3 beacuse thats the recomended amount?

Based on the gallons alone, it should be fine to keep a trio of pim pictus in there, but i have seen some people recommending longer tanks. Personally, for trio of a 5-6inch long growing fish i think such a tank would be fine .
