I have a "community" fish tank, with relatively small fish. Slowly, one by one they have been disappearing. The only culprit i can think of is the catfish i have in there, the pictus and striped raphel. however, neither are seen attacking anybody or doing damage. could they be the eater of something like a zebra danio? thanks

Jess

Both fish will eat smaller fish at night, all catfish with very few exceptions should only be kept with fish that are at least half their own size.

I agree with CFC, my pictus can stuff 6-7 1/4" pellets in their mouths at a time  They are ony 4 inches ATM -_- Raphaels don't do much in daylight, but they are pretty active at night :)

Hmmm Interesting.

I Have a pictus and a Rapheal in My Community tank and they are the most harmless things in there.

I guess I can't help you. Good Luck finding the culprit though!

if either or both are the ones eating the other fish, will they still eat shrimp pellets and other such commerical food or once they have the taste for fish they will keep eating them? thanks!

They still will eat comercial food, I would just make sure that you don't have two small of fish in your tank, Good Luck!
