Okay, I was aware that you should never use a net to catch pictus cats... i am a fool, we'll get that out of the way now... basically i had to move all fish from one tank to another, and i was chasing some other fish around, and the pictus pretty much swam right into the net, he went fine... thinking i could do it, i netted the next guy, but he got tangled. so now he in his new tank, and swimming fine, but has parts of the net stuck to both side fins.

I have tried cutting them with scissors, be he keeps jumping around and I'm scared i'll cut him

can anyone give me suggestions on how to remove this net without hurting him? will it eventually fall off?

it doesnt seem to be bothering him, not yet anyways???

Help!

It is always a nightmare when this happens........It will work itself off eventually though. Just keep a close eye on the situation........HTH.

Hi Nethius :)

Don't feel bad, it could happen to anyone. The same thing happened to me with a C. Robinae. :*) This poor little guy swam around wearing a "tutu" for several days before I got up the nerve to cut it off.

What I eventually had to do, was put him into a shallow soup bowl. I then put one hand on top of him to hold him still and keep him from flipping out, while I cut the netting away with the other.

If you can get a tiny sharp scissors, like an embroidery scissors, it will be easier to get close to his fins than with a larger one.

Good luck! :D
