I have two pictus catfish in my community tank. I added a shrimp last week and can't find it now. I have just been told that Pictus love prawn cocktail!!! Is this true will the Pictus be responsible for the murder of Shrimpy???

Yor pictus cats must love you very much. All members of the Pimelodidae family are predators which will quickly make snacks of any smaller creatures they share a tank with.

There is nothing else on your list that a pictus cat could eat, try adding some tetras or guppies and see how long they last.

For the record your angel fish are also predators that will pick off any smaller fish or inverts.

I've added two more Pictus instead!! I luv em the way they dart about with attitude saying "outa my way" to anything in there way! If it gets eaten then ah well I'll know not to put them in with the cats again!

no offence, but i think mollies need to be eaten. We have them at work and in my opinion they are the gayest fish ever.

I used to have 4 pictus and they were dam awsome! they were all so active. But now they are dead :(

I never see my pictus :dunno: I give them too much hiding places. They hate me even though they get frozen shrimp every other day

I never saw my Pictus until I fitted the moonlight LED's to my tank now when the main lights go out and they come on I sit in the dark and watch them. Some would call that sad I suppose! lol I would say rubbish though cos the tanks a whole lot different when you can see your nocturnal fish.

Could you define what a 'gay' fish is to the rest of us? his mollies are obviously breeding if he had fry, so that rules out the possibility of them being homosexual :dunno: so why should the happiest fish ever be eaten?

get with it.
You know as much as I do todays society counts gay as and abusive word.
Yeah it may mean otherwise, but people use it other then to discribe a happy person or homosexual.
Its just my opinion. I started off with mollies, i can understand why people like them its exciting to watch them breed. But they just bored me.

Anything else?
