I wouldn't risk it. RTS tend to be evil little B******S, & will chase them around the tank.
Pictus can be territorial, but are more likely to dart away from outright confrontation relying on speed to harass the offending fish, unfortunately that's the same tactic RTS use, only more aggressively. The big problem with RTS is they are an attractive fish, but ever so quarrelsome - if you keep them, you'll never have a tranquil tank.

A pair of small cichlids would do well (Kribensis, acaras or Rams or similar) they would defend territory & if breeding, keep the RTS at bay.

i have a catfish... dunno what type it is tho, but its about 8 n half inches long.. all it wants to do is sit on the the bottom, and swim though my plants and goes crazy at feeding time, but i have Ruby sharks currently 2, i uset to have 4 of them all in the same tank they all got to at least 6inches and they uset to group together and rub up against each other... they havent been agressive towards my catfish in anyway, but they seem to chase my silver sharks but never do any damage.

Ruby sharks are exactly the same as a red tail but i think they look abit nicer.

Hope this helps

What size tank have you got?

I tried in a 50 gallon tank and found my two fought too much, had to get rid of the rtbs.
