Heya Friends.
I'm a newbie to this site but have been designing/building/fabrication filter systems and tanks for 20 years.
I have my old buddy the Pictus Catfish whom has seen better days. Lastweek I found he had wedged his self into a hole that was to small and his fins had him wedged in HARD> I had to break the wooden piece to dislodge him. He seemed to bounce back well but ever since his huge whiskers are almost gona and he looks like he has a little fin rot. He's in a tank with a Dampsay, a couple Oscar's, clown loach, pleco and a couple others and they all look awesome.
My water tests out fine. I use a wet/dry filtration system big enough for a 250 gallon tank on my 120 gallon tank. I run a little Nitrozyme in a magnum 250 to help with nitrites when the weather is too cold out for regular water changes.
Everything seems find but my Catfish. I'm thinking it maybe old age, I've had him for atleast 7-8 years and he's the biggest pictus I've ever seen.
This is a last ditch effort to see if I maybe missing something or if it is truly just his time to go. Any ideas?
