how do you insert a picture into a topic?

You need to have the images hosted somewhere. I believe there is some info on hosting in the pictures forum.

Most ISP's allow you free webspace and that is a good place to host your pictures. I purchased my own domain that costs me very very little that allows me to host my pictures though I usually use the webserver I'm an admin on.

Also there are some free places on the internet that allows you to host one of them that my forum has used for a long time has been www.ls1camaro.net

what you'll need to do is host your picture on the internet somewhere once you do record that address.

For example if I wanted to post a picture of my gouramis. I know that picture is located at http/www.ls1.com/sky042stuff/DSC01468.jpg

The way I would turn that link into an image on the screen is through the use of the tag.

you would write it out like this
{IMG}http://www.ls1.com/sky042stuff/DSC01468.jpg{/img}

HOWEVER YOU NEED TO REPLACE { WITH [ AND VICE VERSA } WITH ]

I had to use the other little bracket or it would show my picture.
