Pictures of Ick on YoYo Loaches

Anyone have any pictures of ick on yoyo loaches? I need to see some to make sure this is the problem before I go adding Ick medication.

I can't find a picture but can you describe the fish. Is it all over the fishes body, is it like a small ball of fluff on the fish?

its not really all over the body...Im going to just do the medication because im pretty sure its ich...

The pictures you see online of ich are usually fairly advanced cases. From everything you have said in your other post, your fish do have ich. The best description is the fish look like they have been sprinkled wiht salt.

Yeah I know...I was just hoping it wasnt...im going tommorrow first thing to get the meds and that test kit so I can get other test results..

just a point to remember loaches as they are scaleless fish are much more susceptable to the effects of meds & so for many meds with loaches you'll need a smaller dose than for other fish. read the pack carefully.

Yeah, I knew they were, thats why im so concerned. This is my first time to have loaches and only my second time to deal with Ich. The first time didnt go so well and im tring to not let that happen again.

Any ideas on what meds to use? I live in Alabama if that helps any. Im going to make a separate thread just for the meds.

the meds i use are CopperSafe but there is more out there.

I use maracide malchitegreen but im not sure if it harms loaches or not.

Hi, hope you don't mind me reviving this thread. I recently got some yoyos too and wasn't sure if they have ich or not.

Barracuda518, I know it might have been a while back, but how did your treatment with the ich go? How are your yoyos doing now? Have they grown a lot since last August?

I'm finding it hard to identify the white spots on the yoyos, because their body is white so its kind of camouflaged if you know what I mean, plus they never stop swimming around!

There are no white spots on other fish in the tank, so hopefully the yoyos wont have it. Another thing I've read is that fish would normally scratch themselves against the glass or gravel if they do have ich, haven't noticed them doing that yet, thankfully!
