hey guys. so we got some cichlids with my new (used) 75g tank. my parents kept two of the big ones plus a baby that we found in the tank.
anyways, this is my favorite (other is a big blood parrot).

from my understanding it is a male Labeotropheus fuelleborni, is that correct? he is about 6.5" and very beautiful.
i've been spending a lot of time with it as I read online they can learn to identify their owners from other people, and he seems to be warming
up to me

anyways, here he is:

based on his coloration and size, is it possible to estimate his age? how long do they live?

thanks for any info you can provide :good:

I'm not able to estimate his size, but I wanted to say that Fuelleborni looks magnificent i'd be proud :p.

Since he's so large, I'd say he's at least 2 years old, more than that I couldn't say. He is quite a beautiful specimen.
How long he'll live depends on a lot of factors, but 10 years isn't unreasonable. :good:
