this is my new tank 3 weeks old, mostly livebeares .

sordtails
platties
endlers
neons
apple snails

Is the breeder trap in use?

You do know that livebearers can have upto 100 fry (40-50 more common although 5-20 in they first few birth. They can also store sperm so once pregnant will give birth every 4 weeks for several months (not preaching to the converted am I?).

the breeder trap is in there because a have 4 female guppies and a plattie about to pop
i let my fish give birth in the tank and then a spend hours catching baby fry i have lots of floating plants for them to hide in.( i put the fry in there for a few days before i rehouse them)
so far i have 40+ fry platties/sordtail/endlers, they are housed in a small 10 gallon tank, i will grow these with the intention of giving them to family and friends, or lfs.


ihave kept/bread fish for many years, but stopped about 6 years ago but now im back and as addicted as ever

Are you sure they are neons they look like cardinals, tank looks great!!!

yes i know what you mean about the guppie endler mix, i have read that alot of people think these should not be kept together, but i love both guppies and endlers and couldnt leave one out
i have 1 male endler and he likes the ladies,(all kinds)
1 male guppie he likes the guppie females but not shown interest in the endler female

as for the plants they are all quite new lets see if i can keep them looking that way

nope def neons,,,, they we just swimming fast and my camera isnt that good

please don't hybridise the endlers, they will turn into the guppy, inbred and weak

depending on where the endlers came from they could already be hybridised.

thats a hybrid. a lot of lfs are getting them now, as a general rule of thumb "pure" endlers dont have a long flowing dorsal and "swords" are kept within the tail. the main thing is as long as you like them it doesnt matter
