here are my new angels.

left one is Smokey II, which i believe to be a Silver Zebra Angel (?). this comes from my girlfriend's 10G tank...she bought it as a tiny baby and it grew to this size (~2") in her tank in the space of 2 months or so...

and then i wanted a partner and I like the koi look so i got one to match Smokey II in size, that also looks somewhat similar to a Koi Angel. We would like to think this one is a female, so we named her Angelica.

sorry for the crappy pics, my camera is not designed for this! and I also apologize for the crappy look in the tank, i'm in the process of changing things around. got a mopani wood soaking and new substrate coming next week so the tank looks bare and crappy now...

anyways, based on those pictures, any idea as to the sexes?
what is that pink/red thing on Angelica's right gill? he/she is behaving normally, is friendly and eats well, but i dont know if that red thing is something to worry about. any ideas?

any comments in general?

Is the spot on both sides? There are "blushing" angelfish that are bred to have red spots like that, it could be normal color.

Red spots are just gills. As said above these Angels are normally named "blushing Angels."

Sexing is pretty much impossible until they breed, especially at this young age!!
