I've seen those CO2 reactors many times but I've never understood quite how they work. it looks like there's an air hose from the CO2 bottle running into the gravel vac and a pump hooked up to the top of the gravel vac with a piece of sponge at the bottom, but how does all that work and what does it do?

edit: please forgive me for not saying before but I love your tank as well very nice.

Thanks.

In short its for feeding plants, in the pop bottle (co2 generator) is filled with suger and yeast, which ferments and gives off co2, which passes down the air tube to the forced reactor. the co2 bubbles want to rise to the surface, but the flow from the pump pushes them down, curning it all up exstending the amount of time the co2 bubble is in contact with the water , which means very little co2 is wasted.

I,ve had it in my tank now for about 12 days now and the improvement i,ve seen in my plants is supurbe, give it a go.

awesome thanks for the info, I'm definetly going to need it soon as I'll be putting quite the light power (130watts) over my planted 20g so Co2 will be needed to help control algea. (130 watts a) I got an awesome price and B) I can upgrade my tank eventually and still have good wattage. Thanks again for the info.
