just picked up the 40G Tall today with a stand , lighting, filter, plants, rocks, and driftwood, all used from the newspaper classifieds. Went out and got 3 golden dojo loaches to cycle the tank. Whaddya think?

Its a Golden Dojo Loach. Its not an Albino though. They occur in shades from white, to medium orange. Mine happen to be whiter than orange though.

right now I moved my Albino African Frog there. After the tank cycles I'll rehome my frog, and move my 6 Tiger Barbs in. Then I'll add either 2 German Blue Rams, or some hatchets. I'm leaning toward the hatchets as it will spread the fish out. loaches on the bottom, TB's in the middle, and hatchets on the top. OR...maybe an African Butterflyfish...if my Tigers are cool with it.

My existing 10 Gallon will them be home to 1 German Blue Ram, and some neons or cardinals.

I was just about to say........ fishless cycling?!?!?! Please it is SO worth it.... yes it involves patience but it is so worth it. Don't want to gang up on you but!!!

Eh, I'm more of a fish-cycle guy myself. I understand the whole "Its better for the fish" perspective, and I respect it. But it comes down to..I just prefer doing it with fish. I do the best I can for my fish at all times, but this is the one concession I make. Granted I've only cycled 1 tank thus-far...but it was a success. 6 Tiger barbs and they all survived, no problem, with NO diseases of any sort.

I just like it better that way I guess. Maybe that has become unpopular...but to each his own....

From what I can tell, all 3 of my dojos are male. Therefore they shall be named...Curly, Larry, and Moe.

Beautiful Dojos! <3 those little gurs.

Personally, I like girls better... They get a little 'fuller' and mine seems much mroe cimical then my boy ^^

fantastic pictures. good choice with the driftwood, it's a really nice piece and unique too becuase there's stems that grew in every direction. It resembles a modern sculpture more than the regular run o' the mill driftwood and adds alot to the scape. awesome.
