was going to post a pic of my betta, but can't seem to get it to work, oh well

anyway, as for the 170
right now, in it are

6 normal tiger barbs
4 green tiger barbs
2 blue rams
1 bristlenose pleco
1 red tailed black shark
6 julii cory
2 white clouds
and 4 gold neon rosy barbs, which i couldn't get to sit still long enough to get a pic of

i was thinking of adding 6 more tigers, 2 more gold neon rosy barbs, 6 of some other type of cory, 6 more white clouds, 5 yoyo loaches, and 4 keyhole cichlids, but i'm not sure if they'll all fit, or get along together

anyway, yeah thats my tank

Great tank!

So im guessing thats 170Gallons, if so you should get another 6 corys. Doesnt have to be the same type, but Corys are so cool in larger groups and would look great on the bottom of the tank on that sand!

I think maybe another plec is needed aswell

Ben :)

yeah i'm thinking of getting some of the little spotted cories that just came in, and maybe if i ever find a gold nugget pleco again, one of those

but for some reason, its impossible to find anything but common plecos around here
and i can't find anything but clown loaches either

edit: i don't know if i should be worried or not, my pleco keeps swimming into the out-take for the filter and sucking on whatevers growing in it, i can't tell if he's getting stuck or what, but every so often he makes a hell of a lot of noise swimming around, i think he's just swimming back into it as it pushes him out, but anyway, is this bad for him at all?

edit 2: what else is funny is that the cories i have, never ever stay on the bottom of the tank, they shoal with the tiger barbs around the middle of the tank, in fact, just about everything shoals with them except the rams and pleco

I'd dump the viking hat on the couch form your first pic in the tank as decorations

that's just me though... :p

awesome work btw!!!

If you're serious about plants . . . avoid large plecos . . . amount of mess out weighs algae eating benefit . . . get an army of otos instead.

well we couldn't figure out what would seal the wood and not be toxic, so we just put sheets of plexiglass over the wood, essentially making a plexiglass box inside a wood box, the front is real glass though, the woods painted of course, still need to touch it up though

can't quite figure out what to do for a top though, right now its plexiglass, but it bows something awful, glass is too expensive, i was thinking maybe a wooden frame or something on the plexiglass to hold its shape

i think both the heaters busted the last time power went out though...i'm really not all that sure, all i know is they're on the lowest settings now and the tank is still gaining heat, so i unplugged them altogether, they stopped working right about the same time i added the fish

anyway, hopefully tomorrow i'll find some loaches or something neat to add
