I've had my male dwarf gourami for about a month now, however all he will ever eat is frozen bloodworm!

At the moment all I have in the 10g tank is 2 female platys and a few platy fry. I try to feed a varied diet, flake (aquarian), daphnia delica and shelled peas.

The platys ravage everything, but whenever the gourami eats any of the above he'll just spit it right out.

I don't mind feeding bloodworm because they all really love it... but I want to vary all their diets as much as possible. I can't feed the gourami seperately because the platys will just eat the bloodworm too, and turn out like little piggies.

A while ago I had to stop feeding him for about 2 days, so after that I thought he'd take anything! But nope he's still as picky as ever.

Is there anything I can try? Or should I just let him be picky!

:D They are such characters... Anyway, I can't see a definite solution besides just continuing to feed bloodworms. However, I think that if you persist, he will eventualy accept other foods too. I would stop feeding bloodworms for a while. If he gets realy hungry, I'm pretty shure he'll go for something else as well. Maybe try a new brand of flakes and keep switching foods around for as long as necessary until he decides to eat. Obviously, if you see a deterioration in his health due to the lack of food, resume feeding bloodworms and try again once he's healthy again (or just stick to them ;)). Also try some brine shrimp and pellet foods to see if he accepts those. Good luck :p
