basically im going to buy a nice red male cuppy and about 2 females would i need a red female for the fry to come out like the male or will they just come out totally diferent or doesnt it matter what female i put with him?
Guppy genetics is a massive subject, breeding from shop fish is a very difficult as knowing the genetic history is impossible, and the females have probably crossed with other males.
Even crossing two red fish they may have different parentage thus resulting in a mixed bag of fry with almost anything. However if you buy from a breeder then your be sure to know that your get true red fish and almost all the fry will be red in colouration.
